You will find the apartment only a few minutes’ walk from Central Station. All the city’s major attractions are within easy walking distance. Why not enjoy a coffee in Dam Square and watch the world go by? Street theatricals, buskers and thousands of tourists and pigeons can be seen in this, the very centre of Amsterdam.
Head down Rokin from Dam Square until you reach the world famous floating Flower Market where you can buy all kinds of exotic plants and even have bulbs sent back home to yourself or friends. A few minutes away is the impressive Art Deco designed Tuschinski cinema, possibly the most beautiful picture house in the world. 90 years old and still going strong, it’s a real experience to go and see a film there in the 2000 capacity ornate auditorium.
Why not take a wander east of Central Station and visit the wonderful Waterlooplein Market where you can find just about everything on sale everyday except Sundays? The bric-a-brac stalls at the edge of the market are a great place to pick up a bargain or two. You are sure to find something unusual to bring home from your trip to Amsterdam.
Why not take the tram a bit further out of town and jump off at the majestic Museum Square. Here you can see impressive Dutch treasures and art at the Rijksmuseum or world famous self portraits at the Van Gogh Museum by the great master himself.Location - Area: Jordaan, Canal Belt, 9 Streets, Dam Square, Red Light District, Rembrandt Square
