  • The Carré Apartment B 2-bedroom apartment offers elegant stylish accommodation for up to 7 guests in the centre of this beautiful and exciting city.

     

    With its large windows and beautiful wooden flooring the overall feeling is one of space and comfort. This is an original 19th century canal house that has been stunningly renovated, leaving many original architectural features visible including the exposed wooden ceiling joists. There are two attractively decorated bedrooms fitted with double beds and excellent storage for all your clothing and belongings. The large sofa in the living room converts easily into a double bed for two more guests if necessary. From here you can also enjoy the flat screen TV together. Also provided is an amazing grand piano for you play if you are a budding pianist. Prepare you own meals at the excellent modern kitchen with provides all the equipment you need. A large dining table and chairs is perfect for mealtimes together or using a laptop computer or preparing paperwork if you are visiting the city on business. The apartment has a private bathroom fitted with toilet, shower and sink.

  • You will find the Carré Apartment B located on a side canal just next to the majestic Amstel River. The apartment is just a six minute walk from the popular Waterlooplein Flea Market where you can buy just about anything. It’s a great place to pick up something weird and wonderful as a souvenir of your holiday in Amsterdam. It’s also the perfect place for unusual photo opportunities.

    To get to the centre on foot take follow the river north. You will pass the elegant ‘Skinny Bridge’ or Magere Brug which is most famous for appearing in the James Bond classic 1970 film ‘Diamonds are Forever’.

    Cross over the bridge and make your way past the romantic house boats and the excellent Hermitage Museum where you can see some of the world’s finest paintings and learn about Dutch-Russian relations.

    To the east, a short walk away, lies the excellent Artis zoo and aquarium and the incredible hot houses of the Amsterdam botanical gardens, Hortus Botanicus. Alternatively head north further into the city and explore the delightful Canal Belt area or the famous central Red Light District.

    You can of course alternatively use public transport to get to and from the apartment. Follow the Amstel south for 4 minutes and jump on any of the many regular trams heading into town from Sarphatistraat. You will, eventually reach Central Station in around 7 minutes, depending on traffic.

    this is quite a remarkable apartment. it suited our needs exactly. 4 of us including two teenagers. the location was just blissful with wonderful shops very close by.a very quiet peaceful street yet within easy reach of everything we wanted to do in the 3 days we stayed there.the view from the window was....well just go and sample it for yourself.
    and yes, even the teenagers loved the place....we hardly saw them even when they were in the apartment. how good is that???
