The Easter Suite Apartment lies on the border of the leafy Plantage and the charming Dapperbuurt districts. The Dapperbuurt neighbourhood is the Amsterdam’s equivalent of New York’s Greenwich Village with its rich architecture, and energetic multi-cultural identity. The great jewel of the district is the amazing Dappermarkt, a city market once voted by National Geographic Traveller magazine as one of the world’s “top ten shopping streets”. The market has over 200 stalls selling all number of crafts, clothing and international food. You will be amazed the variety of products on offer and it certainly makes a great afternoon excursion. You will find the Tropenmuseum and Oosterpark close by as well as the fantastic Artis Zoo and aquarium which lie just 4 minutes’ walk away from the apartment.
Artis is one of the oldest zoos in Europe with one of the most successful animal breeding programmes in the world. You will, find all the popular animals including giraffes, tigers and monkeys. There is even a small petting area for children and adults to interact with the more native animals such as goats and chickens. Don’t miss the incredible original 19th century aquarium which lies at the far end of the zoo grounds, closest to your apartment.
