To the rear of the room is an open-plan kitchen area where you will find everything you need to prepare your favourite meals. The design allows you to communicate with your guests freely whilst preparing food. There’s also a stylish dining table to make mealtimes that bit more sociable and comfortable. The bedrooms are remarkably enchanting. Beautiful exposed timber roof beams create an incredibly traditional and romantic ambience here.   • The Keizer Delight apartment can be found at the corner of Utrechtstraat on the stunning Keizersgracht, one of the four major canals that loop the old city centre known as the Canal Belt. This is possibly the most sought after location as it is not only absolutely beautiful but also relatively quiet for a central capital city location. You will adore this fairytale tree-lined waterway with its pretty house-boats bobbing at the water’s edge. Amazingly a large chunk of this district area was nearly demolished in the 1970s to make way for a major access road into the city. Following much protest the plans were eventually torn up and today the area is protected as a UNESCO preservation site of architectural importance.  

    The apartment’s close proximity to Utrechtstraat is ideal as this is where you can catch any number of trams into the city centre taking only minutes to reach Central Station.

    Be sure to wander two minutes immediately east from your front door and you will see that the canal joins the majestic Amstel River. The famous Skinny Bridge that features in the classic 1971 James Bond film Diamonds are Forever is just a few minutes’ walk south and is a lovely place to cross the river to explore the Hermitage Museum and the wonderful nearby Waterlooplein Flea Market. Here you can try to bargain with the stall holders for that little piece of unique treasure that is just waiting to be found. Don’t be afraid to rummage amongst the boxes of bric-a brac and piles of vintage clothing. This is also a great place for unusual photographic opportunities.
