The prestigious Old South area boasts some of the most expensive real estate in Amsterdam. The Cornelis Schuystraat is popular with its high end shops and cafes, offering exclusive designer brands and like the nearby P.C. Hooftstraat, is where the rich and famous come to do their shopping. The apartment is only minutes on foot to Vondelpark and Museum Square and it is also possible to walk to the city centre, but tram links are nearby if needed. The Old South also provides easy access to the RAI exhibition centre and The World Trade Centre.

Rate: 8 Elegant apartment in a beautiful location a block from Vondelpark. A gorgeous and large rear balcony as well as french doors opening to a small balcony on the street make for a charming stay and the neighbors make you feel like a local!Amory from United KingdomRate: 8 This is a comfortable and spacious apartment in a great location. The local area is very pleasant to explore and has a great selection of local shops (careful, some of the shops are very expensive but the quality is very high indeed), it is also very easy to reach with a short tram journey from central amsterdam. The location is away from the busy center of amsterdam which makes for a pleasant stay, it is also very close to the vondelpark and museum district. There is no wi-fi and some of the appliances could perhaps use an upgrade, however the apartment itself is a great place to stay. Only downside is noise coming through the ceiling from the upstairs apartment, but it's no problem once you get used to it. One great thing about this apartment is the dining table and six chairs which give you the option of eating there with friends rather than having to eat out, this is especially good as amsterdam is generally not great for restaurants in terms of quality and value.WildbloodRate: 9 fabulous location : shops, restaurants , the no. 2 tram , the bio shop , internet cafe , the Vondelpark, concerthall . While outside the hub bub of the city centre, this area was quiet, clean and safe. Tram service is excellent so you don't feel like you are loosing out on anything.
