Located in the exquisite Canal belt area of the city, the stunning 1 bedroom Quote Canal Residence Deluxe II holiday apartment makes the ideal base for your stay in Amsterdam. Sleeping up to 5 guests comfortably it makes an excellent alternative to renting hotels rooms in the city.
Inside you will find a magical fresh white interior furnished with attractive contemporary furniture. This is a very old building that has been preserved with lots of its original 17th century design features including beautiful exposed wooden ceiling beams.
There is a charming spacious living room area with no less than three sofas where you can relax as a group after a long day of sightseeing. Two of the sofas convert quickly into beds for 2 of your guests. Enjoy the provided flat-screen TV provided. You will find a range of international channels installed. Beautiful large bright windows allow a view over the charming canal side. A bedroom is located at the rear of the property and is fitted with a double bed and a single for three more of your guests. There is a fully equipped open kitchen for you to prepare favourite meals and a stylish wooden dining table and chairs for enjoying mealtimes together. The apartment has its own private bathroom fitted with bath, shower, wash basin and toilet. A similar second apartment is also available in the same building so if your group is larger than 5 guests you may be interested in hiring both apartments so that you can all stay together under the same roof.

The Quote Canal Residence Deluxe II apartment is located in the charming Canal Belt area of the city. Unsurprisingly the area is extremely popular with tourists with cameras. The attractive tall leaning buildings, footbridges and house boats have come to represent Amsterdam to many. It is quite amazing to learn that the city once considered demolishing the houses in the area since they had become very run down in the years following the war and there were plans for a new highway into the city. An estimated 22,000 homes in Amsterdam were never reclaimed after the war by their Jewish owners as they did not survive the holocaust. Many of the Canal Belt buildings were not only homes but also Jewish owned offices and warehouses. In 2010 the whole of the old city centre of Amsterdam was added to UNESCO’s list of protected places of important historical and architectural importance.
If you wish to find out more about Amsterdam during the war years then be sure to call in at Holland’s most visited museum, the Anne Frank House. Here you can learn about Anne and her family and friends’ lives in the tiny rooftop annexe where they hid from the Nazi regime during the war until their discovery. You are able to climb through the secret doorway into their hide-away as well as see Anne’s actual diary and notes. The museum offers an insight into the history of ‘tolerance’ around the world and encourages visitors to consider their own actions in the future. The museum offers an enlightening, moving and thought-provoking experience for visitors of all ages. Since the museum is extremely popular all year round you are advised to get there as early as possible in order to avoid the extremely long queues that occur particularly in the summer months.
