The Rijksmuseum Luxury III apartment is perfectly located near to the famous Rijksmuseum itself. This incredibly majestic museum is jam packed with stunning treasures of national and international importance including Rembrandt’s infamous ‘Night watch’. With so much to see you can certainly spend several hours looking around this Dutch cultural icon.
Since the Rijksmuseum is located within the famous Museumplein, it would be rude not to check out the competition. You will find the Van Gogh Museum and the newly refurbished Stedelijk Museum. The former houses the largest collection of paintings by Vincent Van Gogh including many of his famous self-portraits. The latter is the perfect place to come face to face with the great artists of the 20th century including Picasso, Cézanne, Matisse, Lichtenstein and Warhol.
After all that cultural excitement and artistic overload you could understandably need some peace and quiet to digest it all. Head immediately west a few minutes on foot to the wonderful Vondelpark. This mile long oasis of calm is beautifully landscaped and visited by more than 10 million people every year. Take a leisurely stroll admiring the water features, and thousands of trees. Look out for the hundreds of wild parrots who have made the park their home in recent years.
You may of course decide you’d like to see the park and Amsterdam at a slightly faster pace, feeling the wind through your hair as you go. Why not go native and hire bikes for the duration of your stay? It’s fun, relaxing and of course also very healthy. Fear not, Amsterdam and most of Holland is designed with the bicycle in mind. Excellent dedicated cycle lanes make it extremely safe to cycle here in comparison with any other European country. Once you climb aboard a bicycle you will be wondering why you hadn’t done so sooner.Location - Area: Canal Belt, Dam Square, Vondelpark, Leidse Square, Museum Square
