You will find the Old Harbour E apartment across the road from Central Station and approximately 7 minutes’ walk east. This is the oldest part of Amsterdam. Behind the apartment you will find New Market, known locally as Nieuwmarkt. On the picturesque town square regular markets are held every weekend selling everything from antiques, fashion, crafts and collectable books to local farmer’s produce.
You are also on the very edge of the world famous Red Light District. It is a fascinating area to explore at night when the streets really come to life and the neon lights reflect atmospherically in the water of the canals.
All public transport services can be found at Central Station. Chose between trams, buses, the metro, ferries or why not hire a segway scooter for an hour or a bicycle for the whole duration of your visit. Riding around the city on two wheels will allow you to see the city from a whole new perspective.Location - Area: Dam Square, Red Light District, Rembrandt Square

Rate: 9 The service was excellent, I had to amend my booking twice and my e-mails were responded to quickly. The apartment was a good price so I wasn't expecting very much when I got there but it was lovely. There was tea and coffee provided and even a bottle of rose! I will recommend to friends and family.Daniel from United KingdomRate: 8 The service was first class, friendly and professional. Booking the apartment was straight forward, quick and easy. The apartment was in good condition and situated in an ideal location.Murat CanRate: 10 Don't get misleaded with location not being in the exact center of "sin world" of the city, first of all a 10 minutes walk is always good to get refreshed with a fresh air before entering the chaos of red light district, whereas it's excellent to enjoy your walk with a joint, anyway in those 10 mins.
Location is just awesome, since it makes really difficult to get lost, even if you're under the effects of multiple heavy drugs at the same time, you still can tell to a taxi driver to drive you to central station and you will find your apartment by following the shore and some enormous hotels and ships, as well.
Last remark about location is that it provides you to opportunity not to waste entire your stay in red light district and coffee shops, but it also gives you to opportunity to discover more fine neighborhoods, such as Rembrandtplein and Leitzeplein, the two neighborhoods i like most. I mean, this was my 3rd time Amsterdam and I stayed in the middle of tourist flow in my first two times, it was great just to go to downstairs for couple minutes, buy anything you want, but I still and obviously will try to rent a place around Old Harbour, if I hopefully can return to Amsterdam.
Btw, there is a sufficiently big supermarket in 3-4 minutes walk from home.
Interior design was really comfortable, the kitchen appliances were far better then our expectations. I won't say wireless connection was the best I've worked with, but it rarely caused trouble and other audio visual equipment was sufficient. - « go back
