  • The Old Harbour K Apartment lies just a few minutes’ walk east of Central Station. From here you will have a huge choice of public transport.  You can take trams, buses, trains and the Metro to the more unexpected choice of passenger ferries and segway scooters. You may of course choose to ‘go native’ and hire bicycles.


    The apartment lies in the old centre of the city. Immediately behind is New Market. On the picturesque town square regular markets are held every weekend selling antiques, fashion, crafts, books and local farmer’s produce. Across from the square you will find Lokaal 't Loosje, a charming old café where you can enjoy a frothy Amsterdam coffee inside or outside whilst watching the world go by. Be sure to try the traditional Dutch light meal known locally as an ‘uitsmijte’ or ‘oven-dish’. It is a plate of cooked egg, tomato, ham and lots of cheese served with fresh bread and butter. It makes a delicious continental alternative to a traditional English breakfast.


    You are also on the very edge of the world famous Red Light District. It is a fascinating area to explore at night when the streets really come to life and the neon lights reflect atmospherically in the water of the canals.

    The apartment is wonderful! Just 1O min walk from Central Station. It is very light, clean and well furnished. We checked in at the apartment and our host was there just in time. The beds are a little too soft but we had very good sleep. The apartment is Ok for 4 people, the sofa is confortable. I strongly recommend this location.
