  • The Old Harbour M Apartment is perfectly situated a few minutes’ walk east of Central Station. This is the oldest part of the city and is close to the beautiful Nieuwmarkt district. Here on the open square local produce is regularly sold including fruit and vegetables, handicrafts and antiques.


    Take any street behind the apartment and head towards the Waterlooplein Market via Nieuwmarkt. On the left hand side of Sint Antoniesbreestraat you will see a charming toy shop called ‘Knuffels’. You can’t miss the crazy window display featuring cuddly toys and gadgets bouncing up and down and decorative spinning wind mills. Inside you will find more of the same, perfect for that special toy or gift for young loved ones back home. Parked outside is possibly Amsterdam’s most famous decorated bicycle. You will have to wait your turn if you want to take a photo as it is something of a camera magnet!


    For more photo opportunities continue along the road to the famous Rembrandt House Museum on the right and the wonderfully eccentric Waterlooplein Flea Market that lies behind.
