The Oosterdok is currently in the process of redevelopment with new buildings of great architectural value popping up along the IJ river, namely the Amsterdam Library and Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, home of the famous Jazz Venue Bimhuis. The apartment is also close to a number of important museums and tourist attractions including Nemo, the National Maritime Museum, Rembrandt House, Nieuwmarkt square, Waterloo square, the Red light District and China Town. The central location makes it easy to get to anywhere in Amsterdam either on foot or by public transport.
