Captain Canal House

The stylish and luxurious 3-bedroom Captain Canal House is located at a picturesque canal close to Amsterdam Central Station and sleeps up to four guests comfortably.

This classic Amsterdam canal side townhouse has been elegantly restored and many of its original architectural design features remain intact. Exposed wooden ceiling joists are visible in the sleeping area of the apartment.
The bright living room is an immaculately presented with striking designer wallpapers and contemporary black and white themed furnishings. Relax with your guests on the large comfy sofa and armchair and enjoy the flat screen TV also provided for your entertainment. Through an elegant archway lies a fully fitted modern kitchen and dining area. You will find all the equipment you need for preparing your own meals and a dining table and chairs to enjoy your culinary creations.

There are three bedrooms each decorated in calming creamy colours to encourage a restful ambience and a good night’s sleep. Two rooms are fitted with comfortable double beds whilst the third has two singles. The apartment has a private bathroom with a bath, shower, sink and toilet.

The Captain Canal House apartment is located in the very centre of the city, a few minutes’ walk east of Central Station, in a beautiful canal district to the east of the Nieuwmarkt. This square is surrounded by cafes and restaurants and hosts a daily market. To the west of the Nieuwmarkt you will find the world famous Red Light District. The Wallen is Amsterdam's oldest neighbourhood. It is certainly a fascinating area to visit at night when the streets come to life and the neon lights reflect in the water of the canals. Please understand it is not allowed to take photos of the windows.

To the rear of the apartment, at the Oosterdok water, lies the Amsterdam Library. It’s not just about books. With access to the internet and printing facilities this is the ideal place to print out boarding passes or documents should you need them. The library is certainly worth a look if only to see the futuristic design of the interior. Bright, white and shiny with comfortable ‘pod seating’ and computers. The restaurant at the top has great views over the city.

On the other side of the canal, opposite the Captain Canal House apartment, we can recommend restaurant Hemelse Modder. Popular with the locals since many years, in summer they have a terrace at the canal side but also at the backside in their garden. At the corner of the canal, at the Oudeschans, you can see the Montelbaanstoren, a historic tower built in 1516. Even Rembrandt made a drawing of the Montelbaanstoren.

Great location near the train station & bars & eateries. But also quiet set back of the road. Superb, spacious accommodation very easy to heat as the weather was very cold in January. Iron & board. Hairdryer, tea & coffee & dishwasher. All the beds were clean & very comfortable. Would highly recommend captain canal house 2 & will definitely be back.

A really nice apartment for the maximum of 6 people. Very nice living room and kitchen. Three bedrooms and bathrooms. Located near to the city center and the train station Amsterdam Central. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back as soon as possible.

no I don't.But I have a comment to add We enjoy our stay in this apartment...until last evening when a leakage of water coming from the roof of a bedroom occured.Your staff explain kindly it was too late to get technical assistance. After again a very polite and kind discussion-reason of the leakage was not clarified- I said that we cannot use this bedroom (2 beds)and we willhave to make "camping"in other rooms. What we did for our last night in the apartment That event doesn't modifie my appreciation ,but I think I can ask for a refund to compensate this damage totally out of our responsability. Please, what is your opinion and position? (if necessary I have photos of the leakage and the "camping"situation) Regards
