DGTL Festival will be entertaining thousands of revellers on Easter weekend with an electric mix of electronica tunes at the NDSM Werf in Amsterdam Nord. So set the standard for your short stay in Amsterdam and join in with the party on April 19 and 20.
Let underground electronica be the theme tune of your visit to Amsterdam. If you are on a leisure or business short stay in Amsterdam on Easter weekend, you love to party and you are at least 18 years of age then the DGTL Festival needs to be pencilled into that leisure agenda because it is definitely one not to miss. Blasting electronic beats across the six stages DGTL will be impressing its thousands of party-goers with a huge line of or artists whose performances will be spread across the 19th and 20th of April, 2014.
This top-notch music offering will take place at NDSM Werf which is on the northern bank of the River IJ. The former docklands will see five outdoor stages and one indoor at the massive Scheepsbouwloods warehouse. The line-up is an impressive 81-man list of international and home-grown talent, including DJ’s and artists. If you’re going on the Saturday then you will see the likes of Gui Boratto, Kolsch, Agoria, John Talabot, Mathew Jonson, Miss Malera, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Midland, Noir and Soul Clap. On Sunday you can expect artists such as Jamie Jones, Dixon, Solee, Eelke Kleijn, Skream and Finnebassen.
You can see the full line up on the official website www.dgtlfestival.com
Luckily the festival location is quite centrally located as it is close to Amsterdam Centraal; the main train, tram, metro and bus station. We have many Amsterdam apartments around the central station such as off of Dam Square, in the Red Light District, the Jordaan area and even some in Amsterdam North so getting to and from the festival should not prove difficult.
There is a free ferry service running twice per hour from Centraal to NDSM Werf, and back. The ferry is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists and mopeds. The views of Amsterdam’s waterfront as you ride on the ferry are stunning, especially at night time. Check the ferry running times beforehand to make sure that you don’t miss the last one back to the station. If you are staying in the Westerpark area then you can catch a ferry from Tasmanstraat which runs three times per hour to NDSM Werf, and back.
Since Amsterdam is quite a small city you can quickly reach the ferry at Centraal from our short stay Amsterdam apartments in areas such as Leidse Square, Museum Square, Old South and Plantage District; the tram service being the most reliable way of getting about town, especially if you plan on drinking at the festival.
Prepare to also be awestruck as DGTL Art brings you fantastic displays all over the festival grounds; innovative lighting, epic sculptures and crazy acts are all part of the artistic programme. These sites will make great photo opportunities that you can show to friends and family once you return from your leisure or business short stay in Amsterdam. Keep an eye out for a top performer Joanna Peacock who with her crew and a robot dog will amaze you with the out-of-this world robot-like costumes and fire breathing weapons.
