Amsterdam blog – Fifteen – Jessica Cole.docx
Welcome to Fifteen, the restaurant that brings a taste of Italy to the Dutch capital and is based on a concept introduced by British chef Jamie Oliver.
Amsterdam is overflowing with fabulous restaurants and cafes, but for a culinary adventure you won't forget, book a table at Fifteen.
Based on the principles of Jamie Oliver's restaurant in London with the same name, Fifteen is committed to providing customers with some of the finest Italian dishes.
Seating up to 200 people, eating at Fifteen is an experience you won't want to miss out on. From exquisite antipasti recipes and pasta to mouthwatering desserts, you'll find everything you could possibly desire from an Italian feast on the a la carte menu.
The primary role of Fifteen is to train young people to become professional chefs and cope with the daily pressures of working in a kitchen.
Every year, 15 individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 with limited prospects are selected to enter the Fifteen kitchen, where they will be shown all they need to know to thrive in the restaurant and hospitality trade.
What better way to support the development of talented youngsters than by dining at the eatery they are being trained at?
Furthermore, all the dishes are made in a sustainable way and cooked using fresh, seasonal ingredients, so quality is guaranteed.
Located on a city centre canal, the restaurant is a great place to eat if you're renting an Amsterdam apartment for a short break in the city. It is close to the main rail station, Amsterdam Central Station, and is also easily accessible by foot or tram, making it the perfect stop-off point before, during or after a day's sightseeing.
The wine menu is also a wonder to behold and features wines from a number of Italian regions and vineyards. Even if you're not the biggest drinker, you'll find something to suit your palate and all of the Fifteen waiters and waitresses will be available to tell you which wine will best match your chosen dish.
You could even ask for the restaurant's premium wine package, which involves a different wine being served to complement each course as part of a three or four-course menu deal.
