For a bit of authentic Amsterdam magic why not come and stay at the 1-bedroom Old Harbour P Apartment? Sleeping up to 4 guests and close to Central Station it makes the perfect base for all your adventures in the city.
Recently refurbished throughout whilst keeping lots of the original charming features this apartment offers something special. Located at the top of the building in the eves you will find a lovely bright living area with a distinctive high pointed ceiling. The decor is white and creamy with lovely wooden floorboards.
You will find a fully fitted open plan kitchen for preparing all your meals during your stay. Enjoy them together at the dining table and chairs. Relax on the large L-shaped sofa and arm chairs and enjoy the flat screen TV also provided here. The sofa actually converts easily in to a double bed for two of your guests. The apartment has one private bedroom with two single beds together to create a double. You will find attractive storage furniture for all your clothes and belonging and ambient mood lighting. There is also a private bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and sink.
You will find the Old Harbour P Apartment opposite Central Station making it ideal for business and leisure travellers needing quick and easy access to the airport. The station is also home to all public transport links. At the back of the station you can take the ferry for free across the River Ij and explore Amsterdam North. Alternatively why not hire bicycles for the day or even the whole week and experience the city form a whole new perspective.
An enjoyable walk in the city is to follow the canal rings from one side of the city to the other. Make sure you explore the nine parallel streets that link the canals. They are filled with interesting antique shops, boutiques and cafes offering local and international treats. At the north end of the Prinsengracht you will find the charming Westermarkt district. This is the home of Holland’s most visited museum, the Anne Frank House. You can learn about Anne and her family and friends’ lives in the tiny rooftop annexe where they hid from the Nazi regime during the war. You are able to climb through the secret doorway into their hide-away as well as see Anne’s actual diary and notes. The museum offers an insight into the history of ‘tolerance’ around the world and encourages visitors to consider their own actions in the future. An enlightening, moving and thought provoking experience for visitors of all ages. Since the museum is extremely popular all year round it is advisable to get there as early as possible in order to avoid the extremely long queues that occur particularly in the summer months.
