The Dapper Market Apartment 3 is a modern single bedroom residence that is located just outside the historical city centre of Amsterdam. With room for two guests it is the perfect starting location to explore the city of Amsterdam from.
The apartment is part of a 19th century building with large traditional windows. The interior is characterized by a modern design with elegant furniture and trendy colors.
The bright living room is connected to a modern open kitchen that allows you to cook almost any meal you like. Right next to the kitchen you can sit down and enjoy those meals at the large dining table for four. On the other side of the room you can sit down and relax at the sitting corner with a sofa, coffee table and TV set. The apartment also has wireless internet so feel free to surf the internet on one of your personal devices.
In the bedroom you can sleep on a large double bed. There is plenty of storage space and clean sheets are provided by us. So are clean towels for the bathroom that is equipped with a shower and a toilet.
The apartment is located in the 19th century part of the city named Dapperbuurt, meaning as much as Dapper area. Originally the area was populated with working class people while later it became a popular area for Jewish people. After World War Two most of the Jewish inhabitants were deported and the area was left almost empty and with many damaged or destroyed buildings. In the years after the War many houses were rebuilt which resulted in a mixture of architectural styles.
Today the area is peaceful and it has a weekly market from Monday to Saturday. You can buy all sorts of food here but also many other things for a bargain. There is also excellent access to public transport in this area. You can take a tram that takes you to almost anywhere in the city. When the weather allows it you can also walk to the city, it’s not far away at all.
And if you like culture we suggest you visit the close by and recently renovated Naval Museum that gives you an insight in Dutch naval history. Or if you like to know more about the Jewish community that lived in the Dapper Area we suggest you visit the Jewish museum.
