Stylishly furnished throughout, including wooden floor boards, large bright windows and high ceilings you will feel very much at home here. To sleep all your guests there are two private bedrooms with a double bed in one and 2 single beds in the other. A comfortable sofa in the living room is ideal for two more guests if necessary. From here you can all enjoy the fabulous flat screen TV which is also installed with international channels for everyone’s entertainment. The apartment has its own fully fitted kitchen to enable you to prepare your own meals during your holiday. Enjoy your culinary creations together at the attractive dining table and eight chairs for a more sociable and comfortable eating experience. Why not make up a picnic to take out with you on your daily travels around the cit? The apartment also incorporates a private bathroom with a bath, shower, sink and toilet.

Important information:
Because the apartment is situated on the 2nd floor and only reachable by fairly steep stairs, it is less suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The Marnix Apartment can be found on the very edge of the pretty Jordaan district to the west of the city centre. To get to Central Station quickly you can hop on a tram on the Marnixstraat at the rear of the apartment. It will whisk you past the popular entertainment area the Leidse Square on the way. A walk into the city centre is very much recommended and you can reach the majestic Prinsengracht in around 9 minutes. This is one of the four great canals that loop around the oldest part of the city centre and you are sure to enjoy exploring them at your leisure. You will find exquisite 16th and 17th century architecture, pretty house boasts and some unexpected wildlife here. It is so peaceful that it is easy to forget that you are in the heart of one of Europe’s most densely populated cities. Check out the small streets that link each of the canals, there are nine of them in total and they’re jam packed with lots of delightful boutiques, eateries and gift shops.

Head south or anticlockwise along the Prinsengracht a few minutes to reach Holland’s most famous address at number 263. This is the building where Anne Frank hid with her family and friends from the Nazi regime during World War II until their unfortunate discovery. You are able to climb through the secret doorway into their hide-away as well as see Anne’s actual diary and notes. For many people a visit here is something of a personal pilgrimage after reading Anne’s diary many decades earlier, perhaps as a child themselves. The museum attracts over a million visitors every year and provides an extremely enlightening, moving and thought provoking experience for visitors of all ages. Arrive as early as possible or book ahead online in order to avoid the extremely long queues that occur particularly in the summer months.

You will also find an excellent swimming baths and fitness centre a short walk away from the apartment as well as the delightful Harlemmerstraat which was voted the best independent shopping street in Holland in 2011.
