The 2-bedroom Prinsengracht Apartment II provides an outstanding level of comfort for up to 4 guests on holiday in Amsterdam.
This original 17th century canal house has been updated beautifully with all the modern home comforts you are used to and styled exquisitely. Located on the 2nd floor you will find an elegantly muted décor peppered with delightful artworks on the walls, chic continental furnishings and warm light wood flooring throughout. Above your head are the original exposed wooden beams of the building reminding you of its age. Make yourselves comfortable on the large sofa from where you can enjoy the flat screen TV provided. Mealtimes are taken care of in the stunning open kitchen which provides all the equipment you could need. Serve up your delicious creations at the pretty dining table and chairs. The two private bedrooms are furnished with a double bed in one room and two singles in the other. Both rooms have attractive storage furniture and ambient bed side lighting. The extremely stylish black and white tiled bathroom incorporates a bath, sink, toilet and shower. This stunning holiday home makes the perfect alternative to renting a hotel room in the city and feels so much more sociable and personal.
You will find the Prinsengracht Apartment II situated in the city’s prettiest neighbourhood known as the Canal Belt. Made up of four great canals that loop around the oldest part of the city like an elegant necklace, you will find delightful town houses, houseboats, bridges and unexpected wildlife on your doorstep.
To the east of the apartment lies the majestic Amstel River. A pleasant way to wander into the most central part of the city is to follow it north, crossing over the delightful Skinny Bridge on the way. You may recognise this famous water crossing since it featured in the 1971 classic James Bond film Diamonds are Forever. At the other side you will see the wonderful Hermitage Museum housed in a rather grand building. Inside lies a wealth of information, art and beautiful treasures illustrating the special historic relationship between Russia and the Netherlands. Just across the road lies the city’s most popular outdoor market, the Waterlooplein. Here you are likely to find just about anything on sale and it’s a great place for unusual photo opportunities. You may have to wade through mountains of vintage clothing and boxes of bric-a-brac to find your buried treasure but it can be lots of fun and often extremely rewarding. Good luck in securing an agreeable price with the stall holder for your new discovery.
The apartment has such a wonderful central location within walking distance of most of the city’s major visitor attractions. The excellent tram network is also on your doorstep in case you are too tired to walk back to the apartment after your city explorations.
