The zoo houses around 900 species of animals and also features a library, museum, aquarium and planetarium.

Situated alongside the Royal Artis Zoo are the city’s magnificent Botanical Gardens, which provide the perfect setting for a much-loved picnic. Amidst the stunning scenery, the gardens showcase an incredible collection of around 6000 species of plants, some of which are almost 2000 years old. Another must see sight, which can be found just a few minutes away from the apartment, is Amsterdam’s hugely popular Scheepvaartmuseum (National Maritime Museum).
