Have you ever dreamed of living on an Amsterdam houseboat? Now you can make your dreams come true at the Bed on Board Houseboat Apartment Amsterdam which sleeps up to 2 guests in style.
Inside this floating home you will find a comfortable and extremely bright and stylish living space. With its wood panelled walls, floors and white painted furniture it has a certain summer beach hut ambience. There’s a comfortable double bed which can also be separated to create two singles if preferred. Pretty bed side lights allow you to read in comfort at night time. A little kitchenette area allows you to prepare simple meals and hot drinks. Enjoy your food at the attractive wooden table and chairs also included. Alternatively why not eat outside on the furnished terrace area and enjoy the sun in the summer months.
This beautiful watery canal apartment offers a quintessential Amsterdam holiday experience and is so much more individual and private than staying in a traditional hotel room in the city.
You will find the Bed on Board Houseboat Apartment located just west of the city centre alongside the pretty Jordaan district and just south of the lovely green expanses of the Westerpark.
The Jordaan is famous for its pretty parallel streets and delightful architecture. Despite its history as an overcrowded district for the poorest residents of the city in the 15th century it has become one of the most sought after neighbourhoods in the county today. Indeed ironically it has one of the highest price tags to match. You will find a wealth of delightful boutiques, gift shops and cafes in the area. Heading east, the streets lead on to the Prinsengracht, the first of four great canals that make up the Canal Belt. At 263 Prinsengracht, within walking distance of the apartment, you will find the famous Anne Frank House Museum which tells the story of Anne, her family and friends’ lives in hiding from the Nazis. This is Holland’s most visited museum with over a million people walking through the tiny secret annexe every year. Ideally book a time slot in advance online to avoid the massive queues that occur daily.
Each canal is linked by narrow streets and bridges known as the Nine Streets which are jam-packed with yet more boutiques, bars, restaurants, vintage clothes shops, art galleries, antique stores and curiosity shops.
The Westerpark, located to the north of the apartment, is a great place to enjoy a picnic or to ride a hired bicycle. You will find lots of wildlife, greenery and large water features as well as a regular visiting fair ground during national holiday times.
