One such attraction that is definitely worthy of a visit and is popular with locals and tourists alike, is the gigantic Vondelpark. Frequented by an amazing 10 million visitors every year, the park is the largest of Amsterdam’s city parks and stretches over an incredible 120 acres. The Vondelpark was named after the poet Joost van den Vondel and proudly displays a huge bronze statue in his memory. Boasting beautiful gardens, a magnificent lake, a variety of restaurants and an open air theatre, Vondelpark offers variety to all who visit.
A trip to Amsterdam would not be complete without witnessing the famous delights of the city centre. Here is where you will find the bustling Dam Square with its bars, souvenir shops and impressive buildings, together with the well-known Red Light District, characterised by its narrow streets and rose tinted windows.
