Looking for somewhere centrally located in Amsterdam with accommodation for up to 4 guests? Look no further than this outstanding 1-bedroom holiday property.
Recently refurbished, this attractive city centre apartment boasts attractive contemporary furniture throughout and sleek wooden laminate flooring. In the living area you are encouraged to make yourself at home on the lovely comfy sofa with your guests and enjoy the TV also provided. The sofa also converts easily into a double bed for two of your guests at night time.
The separate private bedroom is fitted with good quality storage furniture and attractive reading lamps as well as two single beds positioned together to create a comfortable double.
Prepare all your own meals in the extremely stylish fully fitted kitchen. You can enjoy them served up at the dining table and chairs also provided.
The apartment also features its own private bathroom fitted with a shower, sink and toilet.
This modern and extremely comfortable apartment makes the ideal alternative to renting stuffy old hotel rooms in the city. Staying together under the same roof is also so much more fun and sociable.
This delightful city pad can be found in the southern sector of Amsterdam’s city centre almost on the very edge of the majestic River Amstel itself. The river is just seconds away and it leads into the heart of the old city centre. You might like to wander into town along its bank or perhaps hire bicycles and make your way leisurely into town. Alternatively you can simply hop aboard a tram at Ceintuurbaan, just four streets away.
This vibrant residential district is known as de Pijp and the apartment is perfectly sandwiched between two delightful city parks – Sarphatipark and the Oosterpark.
Cross over the Amstel into the leafy Plantage district and pay a visit to Artis Zoo or visit the powerfully moving Hollandse Schouwberg building. Once one of the city’s most popular theatres it became used during the Nazi occupation period as the place where local Jewish people were detained before being dispatched to the concentration camps. Today it is a place of memorial where you can pay your respects to the estimated 80,000 plus people who were removed from the city during its darkest hours. It is important that we remember the past to learn for the future and this building has an important place in the recent history of the city.
If you enjoy shopping and you are looking for a special souvenir of your stay in the city then be sure to pay a visit to the nearby Albert Cuypstraat Market. Attracting in excess of 20,000 visitors every day you will find a broad selection of items on sale including textiles, vintage clothing, food, gadgets, army surplus, DVDs and so much more. Be sure to stop off at the poffertjes stall for some sweet sustenance. These little warm pancakes are smothered in butter and icing sugar and really hit the spot. If your taste buds are crying out for a more savoury experience then why not try the classic raw pickled herring? Locals enjoy it eaten by holding the tail above your head and tilting your neck back and chowing down on the salty treat. Others may prefer a more demure herring sandwich served with sliced gherkins and finely chopped onion.
The city’s cultural highs are only minutes away to the west at Museum Square. Here you can take your pick from modern art classics at the Stedelijk Museum or the self-portraits of van Gogh at the museum of his name.
