This delightful newly refurbished 1-bedroom holiday apartment for up to 4 guests welcomes you to Amsterdam and promises to make your stay in the city exceptionally comfortable.
Inside you will find a delightful well-designed living space with everything you need for your holiday. Modern design and wooden floorboards make for an enjoyable living experience here in your very own private holiday home for a few days.
Relax with your guests in the living room area and make use of the large sofa and flat screen TV also included. Indeed the sofa also converts at night time into a bed for two of your guests.
There’s also a private bedroom which is fitted with two single beds where the décor is simple and restful. Meanwhile the kitchen area includes everything you need for preparing your own meals at a time that suits you, day or night.
Also included in the apartment is a private bathroom fitted with a shower, sink and toilet.
This delightful apartment boasts a southern central location just south east of the city’s famous Museum Square and Vondelpark. This is the city’s famous and vibrant residential neighbourhood of de Pijp. You will find the popular Heineken Experience visitor attraction here as well as the extraordinarily busy Albert Cuypstraat market which attracts over 20,000 visitors every day to peruse its long stretch of stalls.
The apartment sits quite literally seconds from the western bank of the River Amstel. This stunning waterway leads northwards into the old city centre and a walk along the banks is a very leisurely and enjoyable way to get into town. We would however recommend you hire bicycles for the duration of your stay as it’s lots of fun. Living like a local in Amsterdam will bring a whole new perspective to your holiday experience and it’s not only cheaper and quicker than public transport it’s also very healthy!
Of course the usual public transport options are always available and you can hop on a tram at nearby Ceintuurbaan and be whisked to and from Central Station in around 12 minutes, depending on traffic.
The apartment also has two delightful city parks close by – the Sarphatipark and the Oosterpark. Technically the latter park is in the leafy district of the Plantage , just across the water. Artis Zoo is certainly worth a visit if you are a big animal fan and it includes a fantastic aquarium and a rather overwhelming gift shop.
Another location in the Plantage most certainly worth visiting is the Hollandse Schouwberg building. Once one of the city’s most popular theatres, its use took a terrible change overnight during the Nazi occupation period of the Second World War. It became the place where local Jewish people were detained before being dispatched to the concentration camps. Today it is a place of memorial where you can pay your respects to the estimated 80,000 plus people who were removed from the city during its darkest hours. It is important that we remember the past to learn for the future and this building has an important place in the recent history of the city. To learn more you can also visit the Jewish History Museum in the Waterlooplein during your visit. Also a firm favourite on the visitors’ lists is of course the infamous Anne Frank House Museum.
There is so much culture and history in this incredible city to experience and a nearly 60 museums to visit. You won’t be short of things to do and of course the incredible relaxed atmosphere of the city is particularly infectious.
