The Jordaan is also brimming with an array of must see sights and attractions, including the striking Westerkerk (West Church), which is a sight certainly not to be missed. Designed in the early 1600s by the architect Hendrick de Keyser, the church is well-known for its impressive architecture and huge 85 metre high tower, which can be viewed from across the city. The famous Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn is also said to be buried at the Westerkerk, in an unmarked grave.

Another of Amsterdam’s popular tourist attractions can also be found within the area – the remarkable Anne Frank House Museum. Set within a typical canal side building, the house is where Anne Frank wrote her iconic diary, whilst hiding from the Nazis during the Second World War.
