Conveniently situated just a short walk away from the energetic heart of the city centre, this apartment is perfectly positioned within Amsterdam’s chic and stylish Jordaan district – a neighbourhood much-loved for its trendy boutiques and fine dining establishments. The area was formed in the early 1600s to accommodate the expanding population of the city but soon become poor, overcrowded and filled with slums. During the 1970s, the Jordaan was remarkably transformed into the fashionable district that it is today – a place which is popular with both locals and tourists alike.
The district is also bursting with a superb collection of must see sights and attractions, including one of Amsterdam’s most famous landmarks – the Anne Frank House Museum. Located just minutes away from the apartment and definitely worthy of a visit, the museum is where Anne Frank wrote her iconic diary whilst she and her Jewish family hid from the Nazis during World War II. Also nearby is the Jordaan’s impressive Westerkerk (West Church), which was built when the district was created. This striking place of worship exhibits some truly stunning architecture, as well as an enormous 85 metre high tower, which can be viewed from across the city.
