Congress Centre Apartment A6

Brilliantly designed to maximise space and comfort, the stylish 2-bedroom Congress Centre Apartment A6 is located 30 seconds walk from the beautiful River Amstel. Sleeping up to 4 guests comfortably and relatively close to the RAI Exhibition Centre it makes excellent short stay accommodation for both business and leisure travelers.

The apartment is bright and airy with a warm neutral décor and light wooden flooring throughout. In the living area you will find a comfortable sofa for relaxing with your fellow guests and a flat screen TV is also provided for your entertainment. A book shelf divides the cooking and eating area where you will find a fully fitted kitchen for preparing all your favourite meals form home as well as a stylish dining table and chairs. The table is of course also useful for business visitors preparing paper work or using a laptop. The two bedrooms are simply decorated to ensure a good night’s sleep and fitted with double beds. You will find excellent storage furniture and ambient mood lighting. The apartment has its own private bathroom fitted with a sink, bath and toilet.

The Congress Centre Apartment A6 lies along the Amstel in the south of the city. The Berlagebrug Bridge, just 1 minute away takes you to the other side of the River where you will find Amstel train station as well as metro and tram stops. From here you can be in the old city centre, Dam square and Central Station in a matter of minutes. You can of course walk into the centre on foot following the Amstel north. It takes around 18 minutes to reach the beautiful Canal Belt area. This district represents one of the prettiest areas of the city with its picturesque 17th century warehouses, townhouses, houseboats and lovely little bridges that light up and reflect in the water at night. The picture-perfect location will make your heart melt. Amazingly the characteristic leaning houses narrowly missed being demolished altogether in the 1970s when many buildings had run into disrepair following the war and controversial plans were made to build a huge road to connect the city with outlying areas. Thankfully following many actual street battles with local residents, politicians and police the area was saved and the road was not built. Sadly much of the nearby Jewish district, the Waterlooplein, was destroyed already to make way for the Metro development.

Follow the canals west or anti-clockwise to the north and you will pass through the Jordaan district and Nine Streets – nice separate streets that link the major canals rings and are packed with interesting unusual antique shops, art galleries, gift shops and boutiques.
