Exquisitely presented and fantastically comfortable, this amazing city central 3-bedroom holiday home can be yours for the duration of your stay in Amsterdam.
Sleeping up to 4 guests in veritable sophisticated style, this, one of our favourite short stay residences boasts everything to make your stay in the city exceptionally special indeed. Spread over 5 floors and beautifully lit throughout by large windows, you are sure to fall in love.
Simple chic elegance is certainly the order of the day here. As you make your way up the open staircase you will discover more and more enchanting spaces. Perhaps none are more delightful than the extremely romantic bedroom with its arched roof space boasting exposed timber beams. Like all the rooms, the walls are whitewashed creating a further sense of space and the floors are warm light wood throughout. Head down the stairs again to find two more private equally restful bedrooms. All rooms are also fitted with wardrobes and comfy double beds.
Finally you will reach the ground floor where you will find an L-shaped sofa and armchairs where you can relax and socialise together and watch the flat screen TV if you so wish. Mealtimes are easily taken care of in the stunning modern kitchen which is fitted with all the equipment you could possibly need. Meanwhile an elegant dining table makes your culinary creations easy to enjoy and it’s also a great place to lay out those unwieldy city maps while you decide together where to explore in the city tomorrow. Add to all that two uber-chic bathrooms with two sinks, showers and toilets and you have the perfect alternative to renting dusty old hotel rooms in the city.
We look forward to welcoming you!
You will find the apartment located in the city’s stunning Canal Belt area. The Prinsengracht is certainly the most famous of all the city’s canals. Explore this picturesque network of waterways at your leisure and admire the wonderful leaning townhouses, pretty houseboats bobbing at the water’s edge and of course the unexpected delightful wildlife. It is a shock to discover that there was once a plan to demolish a large portion of the Canal Belt in order to build an ugly new access road for the city. Following angry street battles and campaigns the powers that be were persuaded to switch their plans. As a result, the whole city centre has now been added to the UNESCO list of protected structures to preserve it for future generations to enjoy.
If you are a fan of unusual shopping opportunities then you are absolutely in the right place. The canals are linked together by a series of pretty streets known collectively as the Nine Streets. Here you will discover some wonderful curiosity shops, second hand book shops, boutiques, antique stores, galleries and laid-back cafes.
The Prinsengracht is most famous as being the address of possibly the most visited museum in Holland at number 263. Here at the Anne Frank House Museum you can learn about Anne and her family and friends’ lives in the tiny rooftop annexe where they hid from the Nazi regime during the war. You are able to climb through the secret doorway into their hide-away as well as see Anne’s actual diary and notes. The museum offers an insight into the history of ‘tolerance’ around the world and encourages visitors to consider their own actions in the future. This enlightening, moving and thought provoking experience is recommended for visitors of all ages. Get there as early as possible to avoid the huge queues that occur later in the mornings daily or book ahead on line for a specific time slot.
