With two inviting single beds and a welcoming double bed between them, the apartment’s two calm and tranquil bedrooms ensure that everyone has a place in which to relax and unwind following a busy day. Conveniently situated in the north east of Amsterdam, this apartment occupies a prime position upon the fabulous Java/KNSM Island of the city. This manmade island is split into two areas – the Java area which effortlessly blends modern day architecture with traditional Dutch features, and the KNSM area which was named due to it being the former home to the headquarters of the Royal Dutch Steamboat Shipping Company. The mainland is easily accessible from the apartment by taking a bus or a tram from the nearby Azartplein station.

Just across the water, towards the west of the apartment, you will find the remarkable Nemo Science Centre, which is definitely worthy of a visit. Housed within an enormous green building, similar to a ship’s hull, Nemo is brimming with entertainment for all ages and is the largest science centre in the Netherlands.

Alongside Nemo is Amsterdam’s famous Scheepvaartmuseum, which is set within a former naval building named ‘The Arsenal’. This superb national maritime museum exhibits an array of fascinating displays and interactive demonstrations, allowing visitors to explore almost 500 years of rich maritime history. The Scheepvaartmuseum attracts thousands of visitors every year and is also home to the stunning replica of the famous ship ‘Amsterdam’.
