Our fantastic 1-bedroom holiday property is ideal for a couple in search of a romantic oasis of calm or two friends enjoying a weekend in Holland’s energetic capital.
Tucked away at the top of an attractive residential building, this delightful holiday home boasts beautiful exposed wooden roof beams and an effortlessly cool, contemporary interior. The main living room area boasts attractive painted wooden floorboards and is effectively open plan. There’s a comfy sofa and TV area where you can relax together whilst a fitted kitchen and dining table are also provided alongside.
Take the stairs up to the very top of the building where you will find two single beds. The roof is typically tall and slanted creating a beautiful fairy-tale like sleeping area. Also included in the apartment is a private bathroom fitted with a sink, shower and toilet.
This stunning city pad makes the perfect private retreat away from the busy central Amsterdam streets below.
The apartment boasts a truly fantastic central location and is absolutely ideal for visitors wanting to be in the heart of the city’s energetic core.
Only a six minute walk away from Central Station itself, the apartment sits in a very busy intersection in the city’s infamous Red Light District. It would be wrong not to mention this fact as the street is busy almost all day, every day. A certain heightened vibe here is kept buoyant by the many visitors who flock here from around the world. It’s true that there are lots of ‘specialist’ gift shops on your doorstep, but you will also find some interesting other stores selling knick-knacks, souvenirs and a popular florist. There is a large supermarket at one end of the street for more essential holiday items.
Damrak, the main strip leading form Central Station to Dam Square is seconds away providing more unusual wares for sale as well as lots of mainstream fast food options and the occasional café. There are also several bicycle hire companies close by which we’d certainly recommend you try out as seeing the city on two wheels is lots of fun.
Dam Square itself is the best place to enjoy a little people watching over a cup of frothy coffee or a cool Dutch beer. The city’s main shopping street, the Kalverstraat is also close by. For more unusual independent wares head into the beautiful Canal District and explore the Nine Streets area. These little streets link each of the major canals that loop the old city and are filled with pretty curiosity shops, vintage clothing stores and delightful independent cafes.
