The apartment enjoys a great location, offering endless possibilities for some quality time out in the city. With the close access to tram lines, the city centre and all of its excitements like the fashionable Rembrandtplein, the (in)famous De Wallen, the majestic Dam Square and the friendly Jordaan are right within your reach. Still, if you look outside your window and proceed to the streets, you’ll surely notice the plenty of attractions that De Pijp has got on offer.
Start the day early and have a stimulating stroll along Amsteldijk stretching along the river of Amstel. Stop by for your early-morning cup of coffee in one of the wonderful spots like the Le Hollandais, Ctaste or Aan de Amstel (located across the river). However, if you wish to explore the other part of the area, make sure to visit the Restaurant Azmarino and Cafe Sarphaat to get ready before a journey through the charming narrow streets, lined with traditional bricked tenements contrasting the more modern shops, boutiques and fine eating establishments.
Just across the Ceintuurbaan you have the astonishing Sarphatipark – a truly lovely place, full of fresh greenery and featuring a tranquil lake stretching almost through the its whole length. After a moment of pure relaxation you are ready to visit one of the best marketplaces in Amsterdam – the Albert Cuyp Markt on Govert Flinckstraat, a bit to the north. While you’re there, you are bound to find some good bargains and get some excellent food produce, but items like clothes and cosmetics are offered as well.
Head north-west and after a short walk, crossing the canal via Albert Cuypstraat, you’ll reach the fantastic Museumplein with the major museums of the city (Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk, Diamond Museum, Van Gogh Museum and the House of Bols as a bonus), as well as an underground shopping precinct with a parking lot. From there it is only a matter of a few minutes to the west to reach the absolutely charming Vondelpark.
