There is a diverse selection of excellent restaurants, lively bars and cosy cafes within a ten minute walk, and numerous interesting attractions in close proximity. A short stroll south will lead you through this leafy suburb and to one of the largest and oldest market squares in the capital, the Waterlooplein Flea Market. Pulsating with produce and people, this market attracts hundreds of tourists every day due to its charismatic atmosphere and its enigmatic assortment of collectibles, a must for any market enthusiast. Also close by the square is the Rembrandt House Museum, highly recommended for any fans of the Dutch artist. Considered one of the greatest painters in European art history, Rembrandt resided here between 1639 and 1660. This beautiful building has been impressively restored to reflect this era, granting a fascinating insight into not only the works of a true genius but also general life in the 17th century. Afterwards visit the opposite former home for the sluice master and now a pub: Cafe Sluyswacht, an authentic and cosy place for a coffee or a beer.

Small but excellent apartment located very close to the city centre. I was very pleased to have a proper coffee machine (Senseo) for my morning coffee. A bottle of wine as a welcome present was very nice as well. The kitchen itself is basic, but will suit its purpose. Therefore the bathroom is quite spacious. It features a shower and a bathtub and is in very good condition. To sum up I have to say we had a wonderful 3 night stay and I would return to Old Harbour Apartments anytime when visiting Amsterdam again!
