Tropen Apartment 3

Tropen Apartment 3 is a contemporary and attractively presented 2-bedroom apartment that makes an ideal base for up to four guests in the east of Amsterdam's city centre.

Excellent home design meets style and comfort in this welcoming city pad. With wooden floorboards throughout and a light uplifting décor you are encouraged to find time to relax here. Kick off your shoes and get comfy on the armchairs and sofa in the living room area. There is also a flat screen TV installed for everyone’s entertainment.
In the fully fitted open plan kitchen area you can conjure up you own favourite dishes from home and enjoy them at the stylish dining table. The bedrooms are pleasant and feature a double bed in one room and two singles in the second. Meanwhile a modern and well-designed bathroom boasts two sinks, a bath and toilet.

Extra information: Because the apartment is situated on the 2nd floor and only reachable by fairly steep stairs, it is less suitable for elderly or handicapped people.

Location

The apartment is positioned to the east of the historical city centre, between the leafy Plantage district and the Oosterpark. Getting in and out of the city is easy as you can simply hop on a tram at either of two stops close by, indeed the tram trundles right past the end of your street. Directly across from the apartment lies the excellent Tropenmuseum, a museum of world cultures which is jam-packed with fascinating exhibits relating to non-western cultures. This is of course only one of nearly sixty museums to explore in Amsterdam and you don’t have far to walk to reach a handful of major attractions. Behind the Tropenmuseum lies the pretty Oosterpark which translates simply as ‘Eastern Park’. It has lots of green space and a delightful lake in the centre around which you can enjoy a homemade picnic in the warmer months. Just like the area itself in general, the park boasts a tranquil ambience, unlike the busier and much larger Vondelpark located to the west.

Be sure to visit the nearby Hollandsche Schouwburg and the National Holocaust Museum on Plantage Middenlaan.
The Artis Zoo and the horticultural museum (Hortus Botanicus) are also close by. The latter boasts huge greenhouses that are heated to rainforest-like temperatures and you can walk amongst some impressively tall cacti. This is the perfect place to visit on a rainy or cold day.
