Tropen Apartment 4

Tropen Apartment 4 is a bright and stylish 2-bedroom holiday home for up to four guests, located in the east of Amsterdam's city centre opposite the impressive building of the Tropen Museum.

Inside you will find a welcoming décor and contemporary furnishings throughout as well as large windows and a chic wooden floor. R
elax with your guests on the comfortable sofa and armchairs in front of a flatscreen TV in the living room. Meanwhile you can fix homemade meals in the modern kitchen area which is fitted with all the equipment you could possibly need during your stay. An elegant dining table and chairs are provided to create a sociable eating experience for you and your fellow guests.

The two private bedrooms feature good storage furniture. You will find a double bed in one room and two singles in the second. The attractive and modern bathroom comes with two sinks, a bath and toilet.

Please note: Because the apartment is situated on the 2nd floor and only reachable by fairly steep stairs, it is less suitable for elderly or handicapped people.

This delightful apartment boasts a wonderful location to the immediate east of the historical city centre in an area known as the Indische Buurt (Indian Neighbourhood). It actually lies between the leafy district of the Plantage District and the Oosterpark. From here you have ideal access to some of the city’s most interesting attractions and within easy walking distance from the centre. If you prefer to use public transport to get to Amsterdam Central Station then you can easily hop aboard a tram at either of two stops very close by. Indeed the tram actually trundles past the end of the street on which the apartment sits. Pop into the nearby Hortus Botanicus (horticultural museum) on a cold day and investigate the hot houses and their gigantic cacti and look for that perfect unusual souvenir of your holiday at the nearby popular Waterlooplein flea market.

Amsterdam has more museums than any other city. The last count was just short of sixty so you won’t be short of interesting cultural places to visit during your stay. By far the nearest museum to the apartment is the Tropenmuseum which lies literally just across the street. This fascinating museum is situated in an impressive building and hosts a world class collection of the non-western exhibits and artefacts. After your visit you might like to check out the adjoining park, the Oosterpark, for a picnic or simply enjoy a book under the shade of one of the many trees here. For some grocery shopping you can go to the n
earby Dappermarkt, a large daily market on Dapperplein.
