Occupying a prime position within Amsterdam’s green and leafy Plantage district, this apartment is just a few minutes away from the magnificent River Amstel, which gracefully flows into the heart of the city centre. Boasting some beautiful scenery, the river is also regularly used to host a number of events throughout the year, including the crowd pleasing rowing races Head of the River Amstel and the Heineken Roeivierkamp.
At the edge of the River Amstel is the striking Royal Carre Theatre, which showcases some truly excellent entertainment, such as opera performances, cabaret shows and pop concerts. The remarkable theatre dates back to the late 1800s and was built by Oscar Carre to provide a permanent home for his famous winter circus.
Also close by are Amsterdam’s simply stunning Botanical Gardens, which are a sight certainly not to be missed. Filled with around 6000 species of incredible plants, the 17th century gardens are amongst the oldest in the world and were originally used to supply herbal medicines to local pharmacists. Nowadays the gardens have become a popular tourist attraction within the city and are much-loved for their tranquil atmosphere and picturesque backdrop.
