The once-green-and-natural area of Plantage has become a lovely residential district – and this is where you’re going to stay. It is located right next to the city centre, just a bit to the south-east, so it offers not only a very easy access to all the major highlights and attractions of the heart of Amsterdam – like the lively Dam Square, the mysterious Begijnhof, and the countless number of markets and museums scattered through the Canal Belt, but also a quite tranquil setting for urban relaxation.

Speaking of relaxation, you’ll surely appreciate a stroll along the nearby Oosterpark. Head south-east and enjoy some company of blooming greenery – and of some inspiring monuments appearing here and there; there’s also one site that’s really worth a visit – the splendid Tropenmuseum – a museum of historical variety. Next, proceed west to use Amsterdam’s rich culinary offer, as the right bank of Amstel is lined with fine eateries and cafés, and after that you can check out the amazing Hermitage museum, or cross the river and get lost in the cluster of most diverse products sold on Albert Cuypmarkt.
