Make your way along the delightful little Buysbrug Bridge to the south of the apartment to join Jan Van Galenstraat where you can hop on a tram to Central Station taking around 12 minutes, depending on traffic.

You may like to hop off at the beautiful Westerkerk (western church) on the way to visit the most famous visitor attraction in the Netherlands located at 263 Prinsengracht. This is the location of the secret attic home of Anne Frank, her family, and friends who hid here during the Nazi occupation of World War II. Known as the Frank House Museum it attracts more than a million visitors every year who come to pay tribute to possibly the most famous young diarist of the 20th century. A visit here is not only enlightening, educational and informative but also extremely moving. To many people who read the book as a child themselves it represents something of a personal pilgrimage. There is something very uplifting about Anne’s eternally buoyant spirit expressed through the pages of her journal and she has much to teach us. The Prinsengracht itself is one of four great canals that loop around the oldest part of the city like an extraordinarily beautiful bejeweled necklace.
