Head into the centre on foot, taking in the famous Leidseplein area along the way. Here you can take your pick from the wealth of music venues, night clubs, bars, restaurants, cinemas and theatres for your evening's local entertainment.

The Vondelpark itself is just minutes away on foot and measures an incredible one mile in length. It’s the perfect place to bring a picnic or to sun bathe in the warmer months alongside the pretty water features and landscaped green spaces. Grab a cool beer or hot chocolate at one of the three excellent cafes within the park. Arguably the prettiest has to be the authentic Art Deco styled Blue Tea House in the centre of the park. It’s the perfect place to watch the wild green parrots swooping and diving above your head in search of tasty insects.

If you fancy some art and culture then head south to Museum Square. Here you can explore not only the beautiful Rijksmuseum with its thousands of local treasures but also the Diamond Museum and the Van Gogh Museum.

Getting into the city centre is very easy since you can hop on a tram at the Overtoom, a major street just south of the apartment.
