Get ready for accommodation for four! This charming Amsterdam apartment is located minutes away from Amsterdam Centraal, and offers all the comfort you may need during your short stay.
Step inside a traditional setting abounding with space, brightness, and – in case you didn’t notice – rich ornamentation. Indeed, this place feels like a museum – but a very cosy and homelike one, so once you unpack your stuff, you’ll soon realize that the character of the interiors adds a special taste to this unusual indoor experience.
The living room offers a couple of comfortable sofas, a flatscreen TV for some home entertainment, and a charming fireplace along with beautiful illumination. The lovely wooden floors will take you further to the dining area where you’ll find a classy dining table complete with a set of chairs for all the guests, and the kitchen – located separately – will surprise you with a very modern-day, and provide a rich supply of cooking amenities for your convenience.
Both of the available bedrooms come in a tranquil, atmospheric décor, and are furnished with a double bed and a pair of nightstands with lamps each. There’s also a huge wardrobe with a mirror in the hallway to one of the bedrooms. The bathroom is also at hand, fitted with a sink, toilet, shower and a bathtub for your added comfort.
If you leave at Amsterdam Centraal, you won’t even need to take a ride to your place of stay, as it will be enough to head west along Brouwersgracht. The stroll will probably take, like, 5-7 minutes and you’re on the spot – ready to take some advantage of the Venice of the North. And the location creates perfect conditions to do just that!
One thing you’ll probably notice quite quickly is the astonishing number of eating establishments you’ll find in the vicinity – and this is actually one of the trademarks of the neighborhood; as places like Café Thijssen, Tazzina, Toscanini, or Bordewijk will be right outside your doorstep, it is strongly advised to use their offer. Eet smakelijk!
Getting to the main course of your local sightseeing experience, you should definitely head south along Prinsengracht – this way you’ll be able to spot the splendid Noorderkerk with the adjoining Noordermarkt, stop by at the lovely Amsterdam Tulip Museum, visit the famous Anne Frank House (next to the massive Westerkerk), and learn more about houseboats at the inspiring Houseboat Museum (which is a houseboat itself, by the way!). And if you head east, you’ll have all the local highlights like the Dam Square, the Oude Kerk, Begijnhof, or De Wallen at hand.
Fabulous modern apartment in an ideal location. I was a bit concerned about the noise upon booking as the area is familiar to me but the noise from the street is nothing extraordinary and the main bedroom is far enough off the street that it is hardly bothersome at night. For those staying in the 2nd bedroom or using the upstairs living room, be prepared for some street noise (cars, people passing by) until about midnight when it begins to taper off. Tiel (the host) is very nice & welcoming, he is very accessible with his family owning the corner cafe.Jeremy - Date: 22-08-2015
