Jordaan Marnix Apartment A can be found on the edge of the popular Jordaan district to the west of the city centre. To get to Amsterdam Central Station quickly you can hop on a tram on the Marnixstraat at the rear of the apartment. Also nearby is the popular entertainment area the Leidse Square. A walk into the city centre is recommended and you can reach the majestic Prinsengracht in around ten minutes. This is one of the four main canals that loop around the oldest part of the city centre and you are sure to enjoy exploring them at your leisure. You will find exquisite 16th and 17th century architecture. Check out the small streets that link each of the canals, they’re jam packed with lots of delightful boutiques, eateries and gift shops.

You will also find an excellent swimming bath and fitness centre a short walk away from the apartment as well as the delightful Haarlemmerstraat which was voted the best independent shopping street. Head along the Prinsengracht to reach Holland’s most famous address at number 263. This is the building where Anne Frank hid with her family and friends from the Nazi regime during World War II until their unfortunate discovery. In the museum you are able to climb through the secret doorway into their hide-away as well as see Anne’s actual diary and notes. Arrive as early as possible or book ahead online in order to avoid the long queues that occur particularly in the summer months.
