Nieuwmarkt-Waag Apartment 1

Nieuwmarkt-Waag Apartment has an excellent central location and a stylish modern interior. With its large windows and wooden floors this 2-bedroom apartment oozes with charm and sophistication.

There is a bright and wonderful decorated living area with comfortable contemporary furniture for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing around the city. A flat screen TV is also provided with access to international channels. A smart and practical kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare a home cooked meal for you and your guests. At the large dining table and chairs you can enjoy your meals together.

The two attractive bedrooms with a double bed each, are decorated in soothing colours. The bathroom features a bathtub and shower. Baby beds and highchairs can be provided upon request. Situated on a quiet street with no traffic the apartment is a perfect peaceful haven from the noise of the city.

Please note: This is a strictly no smoking apartment.

Location

The apartment is located in the heart of the city centre but in a quiet side street. From the living room you have a view on the Zuiderkerk (Southern Church), built between 1603 and 1611. Nowadays the church is in use for private and public events. Nearby is the Waterlooplein, the second-hand market where you can buy almost anything. If you are looking for something unique and unusual to bring home for a loved one as a souvenir of your visit to Amsterdam then you are sure to find it here. From vintage clothing and antiques to books and old war memorabilia - the Waterlooplein market has it all on offer.

Once you’ve completed your exploration of the market why not head to the Cafe De Sluyswacht on Jodenbreestraat? Possibly one of the most wonky buildings in the city, its charming lop-sided exterior seems to constantly attract the attention of passing photographers. Inside this 17th century lock-keeper’s cottage it is snugly and warm in the winter months and they sell reasonably priced beers and coffee all year round. If you are a lover of the great master Rembrandt, then be sure to visit the Rembrandt House Museum which lies directly opposite Café de Sluyswacht. In this house Rembrandt lived and worked between 1639 and 1658.

To the north from the apartment you will find the Nieuwmarkt with De Waag, the castle-like building that stands in the centre of the square and is a cafe-restaurant with terrace in summer.

Pros: great location (metro just 2 min away), apartment cosy and well equipped. Cons: no access to the private backyard (blocked doors), very noisy neighbours that also checked twice if someone was smoking inside the house (and I'm not a smoker).

Apt is very good but there are no curtains in the entrance room's Windows. There are some curious neighbours in the Windows against the apt. Therefore we had to cover Windows with papers. I think it is necessary to supply curtain to the Windows. Mature couple

We found the apartment to be very centrally located, everything was within walking distance. The size and layout of the apartment was perfect for two, the terrace outside was a bonus and all the fittings and decor were of a high standard. The bed was the most comfortable one we had slept in since we left home, which was a plesant suprise as we were on a six week holiday and this was the best so far.Would highly recomend staying there to anyone planning a trip to Amsterdam.

This apartment was in a great location, within walking distance of most of the city's sites, but in a very quiet side street. Only used the tram once in the 5 days we were there. Ideal for a couple, but the bathroom facilities would make it difficult for four people sharing. WE would certainly use it again.
