The spirit and style of Ibiza returns to Amsterdam for the third time with the popular Pacha Festival on 17 May, 2014.
Get ready for music, entertainment and hippie market fun at Java Eiland from 12:00 to 23:00. Ibiza’s renowned club brand Pacha brings Amsterdam’s party goers another music event to remember on Saturday 17 May, 2014 when its third edition of the Pacha Festival comes to town. Taking place on Java Eiland near Centraal Station this mega festival is proving to be a crowd puller once again with tickets fast selling out thanks to its impressive line-up and ideal island setting. Surrounded by water and the city’s skyline the fun doesn’t stop from 12:00 until 23:00 with world known DJ’s spinning the tracks, live sets, entertainment and the popular Ibiza Hippie Market. So if you are its kind of free spirited, hip styled individual then this is the event for you during your short stay in Amsterdam.
Its central location on the IJ River makes it incredibly easy to get to. If you are staying in one of our Amsterdam apartments in the area around Centraal Station, Dam Square and the Red Light District then you could even walk to Java Eiland which will take you about 15 to 20 minutes from the station. If you don’t fancy the walk then opt for tram 26 from the station and disembark at ‘Kattenburgerstraat’ station which is near the festival, and follow the signs. If your short stay apartment is in our other popular areas such as Leidseplein, 9 Streets or De Pijp then you can hop on the regular trams which will quickly get you to Centraal Station.
So before you arrive for your Amsterdam leisure or business short stay pack the suitcase with your best outside festival gear and prepare yourself for a fantastic eleven-hour fun and dance session. Pacha Festival will be playing a great mix of house, deephouse, techhouse and techno as the line-up includes 28 artists of which performances are spread out over four stages: the main open air stage, one big house music tent, one big tech music tent, and a stage on a fabulous boat hosted by ibizapeople.com. One not to miss is the back to back set between two world-known New York DJ’s Roger Sanchez and Kenny Dope who you will find on the Open Air Stage. Other well-known names include Mark Knight, John Digweed, MK, Dennis Ferrer, Nic Fancuilli, Todd Terry, Riva Starr, Heidi and Matthias Tanzmann.
Last year’s event was completely sold out with 15,000 people in attendance which means that the Ibiza magic will be alive in Amsterdam once again this May. No Ibiza style party goes without the Hippie Market so take a stroll past all the stalls to find fashion and accessories that may just complete your party outfit. There is no festival dress code but playing dress up is encouraged at Pacha as it adds to the fun and hip atmosphere, and of course adds a lot of colour to your Facebook updates for your friends and family back home! For an extra exclusive experience you can book a VIP table or purchase a VIP ticket. VIP tables are for four to eight people and are positioned by the open air stage and the big pluses are lots of mingling with your group of friends or colleagues, table service and enjoying a dance with lots of space around you. When you feel like it step outside and be at one with the festival crowd in its thousands but when it’s time for a drink or a chill out session before the next big performance then your table is always free and waiting. A VIP ticket will get you through the VIP entrance, enable you to use the open air stage viewing platform, let you head for the special bars with a wide selection of drinks, and give you a free locker to store your belongings in. A regular ticket price is €52, 50. Keep your ears open for the after-party as the festival spirit is bound to continue on through to dawn!
