Unique Shops in Unique Amsterdam

Amsterdam is known for some wicked things but trust me, there is more to Amsterdam than that, much more! Shopping! Yes, that is one of my favourite things in Amsterdam and that is the reason why I have selected some of the funniest, unique stores to visit while in these beautiful city in Northern Europe. Dutch people do not wear wooden shoes but they do have some pretty special shops that reflect their personalities very well.

Amsterdam’s historical (gay) centre – The Reguliersdwarsstraat

Enough about museums, canals, boat-trips and parks. It’s getting dark and it’s time for some drinks and 4/4 beats. Put on your heels and dive into Amsterdam’s fervent nightlife. The Reguliersdwarsstraat is the heart of the Dutch GLBT community, with an enviable history of its very own.

Spectacular Entertainment – An Unforgettable Evening at the Royal Carre Theater

Adopting a luxurious position on the banks of the Amstel River, the beautiful Koninklijk Theater Carre has enjoyed over a hundred years of success, simultaneously charming audiences with its welcoming atmosphere whilst tantalising patrons with performances of unsurpassed quality. Taking heed of such a prestigious reputation, I decided to see for myself whether this historical institution lives up to its privileged status as the country’s most popular theatre.

Heineken Experience

Built upon the foundations of the former Heineken brewery (which used be in this very building until 1988 but was relocated to a more convenient facility in the outskirts of the city), this amazing place, known earlier as the Heineken Treat and Information Centre and since 2001 as the Heineken Experience, provides its visitors with an incredible opportunity to have a peek at the whole production process and history of ‘probably the best beer in the world’ from the inside.
